Past Work

This is a series that I did for my Drawing IV class and I call this series "Clearly Candy". Each piece was done with prisma color pencil on canson paper. We had a variety of genre we could choose from and I chose Still-life. Because of my choice of medium, I wanted to do a subject that would give me a wide range of bright colors. I was also experimenting with transparency. Each of my pieces has incorporated in them some form of transparent object such as plastic bag, plastic wrapper of the candy, and broken glass/glass. This was a fun series to do and maybe one day I will attempt turning these drawings into oil paintings.

New Christmas Project

Every year I try to come up with a new idea for homemade Christmas gifts. My original plan was to find a recipe for transferring images onto ceramic tile, but I couldn't find one that I was happy with. I did stumble across this idea and thought I would give it a go.
The first piece is a bracelet that was made for my fitness instructor at the gym that I'm a member at. I first drew the image and then photographed it so that I could upload it onto my computer. I feel like the wooden beads compliment this piece better than glass beads.
The second piece is a necklace that was made for my daughter's friend. Again, the wooden beads compliment the piece and creates a more casual feel which is more desired by a pre-teen.
My imagination is going wild with other ideas in which to use this process!

My Circle Pattern

I'm new at this whole blog world and still in the process of personalizing my blog layout. I never dreamed that it would be so complicated...Html is a language I have a hard time understanding (although I have picked up on some such as changing margins and some borders) Creating a nice background or right side and left side borders for my page...still yet to master. Today, I created this circle pattern in hopes to use it as a design element on my page - now to just get it onto the page successfully. I covet any advice anyone is willing to pass my way.

Circles of Life Series

This is the third painting in my series "Circles of Life". In this 30"x24" oil painting, I tried to capture the special relationship between these two sisters, while staying true to my use of patterns and shapes.

"Circles of Life" Series

The second in my series..."Circles of Life". The figures in this painting are brother and sister...my niece and nephew. For this 30"X24" Oil Painting, I continued my exploration of shapes and pattern by filling the entire background with the pattern of multiple circles.

"Circles of LIfe" Series

This is the first painting in a series that I am working on - 24"x30" Oil on canvas. I have titled my series "Circles of Life". In this series, I am continuing my study of figure/portraiture while giving a more contemporary feel by exploring the use of pattern and shape.
